When you travel, your dog needs somewhere to stay. The two main options are a boarding kennel and in home boarding, and they suit very different dogs.
A kennel is a facility with runs or rooms, often with many dogs at once. It can work well for confident, social dogs. But for puppies, seniors and anxious dogs, the noise and the cages can be stressful.
In home boarding means your dog stays in a real home, in yours or your carer's, with a normal routine, walks, feeding and genuine company. There are no cages, and your dog gets one to one attention rather than being one of many.
If your dog finds kennels stressful, or you simply want them to feel at home while you are away, in home boarding is usually the kinder choice. Ask about a meet and greet first, so your dog can get comfortable before the stay.
